• The 48+ Yankees won the City Championship for the 3rd time in the last 5 years when they played the Cubs. In the double elimination tournament, the Yankees had the advantage of no losses against the Cubs' one loss. The Cubs won the first game 7-6, but lost the "what if" Championship game 19-5.
• Larry Born, 48+ Cardinals, suffered a massive heart attack last week. He required a triple bypass procedure which has not gone well. His surgery has consumed many units of blood. The one thing we can all do is to give blood to help replenish the supply of this very valuable commodity. Larry was one of the first left-handed catchers in our league.
